Correction to Rare Dis Orphan Drugs J 2024;3:25.

We express our thanks to Tanya Collin-Histed, CEO of the International Gaucher Alliance who alerted us to a serious error in our publication “Exploratory survey study on adjunctive use of medical cannabis for Gaucher disease^[1]”. In the METHODS section, we wrote: “Other participants were indirectly recruited with the assistance of patient advocacy organizations that commonly inform their membership about ongoing research initiatives and disseminate the recruitment flyer [National Gaucher Foundation (NGF), Gaucher Community Alliance (GCA), International Gaucher Alliance (IGA)].” This statement is incorrect and has been deleted in original article. Additionally, in the RESULTS section of the abstract, the sentence “or to informational posts in advocacy group newsletters” has been deleted. In the main text under "RESULTS", the following new information has been added: “A minimum of 970 adult patients with GD were directly contacted through one Facebook group and an indeterminate number up to another 900 (with possible duplicates) were contacted in other Facebook groups. In addition, an unknown number of recruitment flyers were electronically forwarded by GD patients to other patients with whom they maintained contact via a listserv^[1]”. When discussing our study design in 2020, we (YB, RE, NJW) indeed planned to attempt to ask the above organizations to assist us in publicizing the survey project to their membership. However, that was never done, a fact that was inadvertently forgotten when the manuscript was first drafted in August 2023 and perpetuated during several revisions and the final submission to RDODJ. We apologize for our mistake and take this opportunity to make very clear that neither IGA, GCA, nor NGF helped distribute recruitment flyers or otherwise assisted in recruitment of study subjects or have any association whatsoever with our study and its publication.

As correctly stated in the manuscript, we do not know the total number of prospective participants who saw the recruitment material. A minimum of 970 adult patients with GD were directly contacted through one Facebook group and an indeterminate number up to another 900 (with possible duplicates) were contacted in other Facebook groups. In addition, an unknown number of recruitment flyers were electronically forwarded by GD patients to other patients with whom they maintained contact via a listserv. There were 159 respondents to the survey.
