Suda et al.[10] utilized RNAseq data on senescent cells to uncover GPNMB as a transmembrane protein disproportionately upregulated in senescent endothelial cells. GPNMB-based vaccination protected mice against vascular plaque burden, and extended lifespan in an accelerated aging model characterized by vascular pathology.
