Special Issue Introduction
As the search for sustainable and efficient energy storage solutions intensifies, soft materials are attracting increasing attention for their potential applications in aqueous energy storage systems. These materials, characterized by their flexibility, lightweight nature, and biocompatibility, can enhance the performance of aqueous batteries and supercapacitors. This Special Issue aims to explore the latest advancements in the design, synthesis, and application of soft materials tailored for aqueous energy storage. We welcome contributions that investigate novel soft material formulations, electrochemical performance, stability, and innovative device architectures. Additionally, we invite research submissions on smart aqueous energy storage, including sensing, battery sensor systems, self-healing and artificial intelligence. By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, this issue seeks to advance the understanding and development of next-generation aqueous energy storage technologies.
