Welcome Professor Tiebang Kang from Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center, China, to the Editorial Board of Extracellular Vesicles and Circulating Nucleic Acids
We are delighted to announce that Professor Tiebang Kang has joined the Editorial Board of Extracellular Vesicles and Circulating Nucleic Acids, starting November 2024, for a two-year renewable term.
Professor Kang is a Deputy Director, Professor, and Principal Investigator at the State Key Laboratory of Oncology in South China, Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center. He received his Ph.D. from Bielefeld University in 2003 and completed postdoctoral training at MD Anderson Cancer Center and Washington University in St. Louis from 2004 to 2008. In 2008, Professor Kang returned to China to establish his laboratory.
Professor Kang's laboratory majorly engages in the regulation of cancer cells and their microenvironment, their crosstalk and the intervention strategies. The main theme in his lab is to identify new targets to overcome drug resistance for cancer treatments and/or to improve the outcomes of cancer patients with metastases. His team also investigates how these targets execute their intracellular functions and/or their secretion into exosomes to modulate the tumor microenvironment. As the corresponding author, Professor Kang has published over 50 papers in leading international journals, including Nature Cell Biology, Nature Cancer, Cell Research, Science Advances, Journal of Clinical Investigation, and Nature Communications, among others.
Professor Kang has received numerous prestigious accolades. He is a distinguished "Changjiang Scholar" Professor appointed by the Ministry of Education and was named a Distinguished Professor by NCSF and the Ministry of Education of China in 2011 and 2014, respectively. In 2019, he was recognized as a Distinguished Scholar Professor of Guangdong province.
The Editorial Office of Extracellular Vesicles and Circulating Nucleic Acids is thrilled to welcome Professor Kang to the Editorial Board. We eagerly anticipate the valuable expertise and perspectives he will bring to the journal and the field!
